The scalp is a little different from the skin on the other parts of the body. Thus, even though the factors that cause of pimples on scalp are pretty much the same on the factors that cause pimples on your face, chest and back, the treatment of scalp pimples is also a little different.
Since pimples on the scalp are cause by the clogging of its pores due to dirt, dead skin cells and oil, getting rid of the clogging can be helpful. You can do this by cleaning and exfoliating your scalp to remove the clogs. There are scalp products that help exfoliate the scalp and most of them are available over the counter. Regular shampooing and the conditioning of your hair can also help remove dirt and dead skin cells that are trapped in between hair follicles.
When shopping for scalp pimple treatments, shampoos and conditioners, it is essential that you read the labels and the information usually located at the back of the packaging. Take note of the active ingredients of the products as some ingredients on the regular shampoo and conditioner you use may irritate your scalp thus making the condition worse. For severe cases, it is advisable to seek the advice from dermatologists and doctors for the treatment.

A common problem people experience in their scalp is the too much shedding of its dead skin cells, appearing as white skin flakes commonly known as dandruff. These flakes often fall off visibly hence more often than not, results to self esteem problems. Thus, many companies conduct researches to create scalp treatments to resolve problems like dandruff.
One of the dandruff remedies common to people suffering with dandruff nowadays is their shampoo. Increasing usage with normal shampooing will remove flakes, yet it is advisable to use a dandruff shampoo with anti-fungal ingredients to prevent the recurrence. Dandruff Shampoo use a combination of ingredients such as salicylic acid that removes and decrease the rate of the occurrence of dead skin cells in the scalp, and anti-fungal agents such as zinc pyrithione.
Anti-dandruff shampoo containing an anti-fungal drug called ketoconazole which is generally used to prevent and treat skin with fungal infections, have been shown to be more effective than other anti-Dandruff Shampoo. Other anti- Dandruff Shampoo also uses tea-tree oil and piroctone olamine together with other soothing ingredients to treat the scalp.
